Light Rail Transit Jabodebek (Jakarta Bogor Depok Bekasi)
The Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) is a rail-based transportation system serving the Greater Jakarta area (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi). Consisting of 18 stations and 44.3 km of Track, the whole line is elevated.
The whole project costs 32.5 trillion Indonesian Rupiahs. The LRT Jabodebek Phase 1 was officially inaugurated and commenced commercial operations on August 28, 2023. Adhi Karya is the main EPC contractor for this project.
Tigenco’s Role and Scope of Work
Tigenco was awarded several contracts over then span of 3 years to provide soil investigation data for design of the LRT Line. The investigation consists of preliminary works such as fencing and test pit for utility, soil investigation, and laboratory testing.
To execute the project, at any times during the 3 years period Tigenco employs from 3 to 20 drilling rigs working tirelessy along the line. At total of several hundred points were drilled. Tigenco also supplies the geotechnical data for longspans including the world famous curved longspan at Kuningan.
Demonstrated Value and Expertise
As the initial work was done during the first tenure of then President Jokowi’, it was a fast track mission to upgrade the transport infrastructure of Jakarta. Tigenco was on the field even before the contractor set foot in some areas. Tigenco was able to provide a large number of teams and drilling rigs in a short time to meet the schedule demand.
Tigenco also proves to be the master of urban soil investigation as we helped Adhi Karya to navigate the dangerous urban permit process, the tangle of utilities underground that hampers progress and high safety standards to work inside high speed highways.
