Awak Mas Gold Project
The Awak Mas Gold Project, located in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi, is a key development managed by PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA), a subsidiary of Indika Energy. This significant gold mine targets an annual production of 100,000 ounces and is slated for “First Gold” in 2026. Covering an area of 14,390 hectares, the project’s construction contractor is Petrosea Tbk.
Tigenco’s Role and Scope of Work
Tigenco was awarded a three-year contract to provide comprehensive quality control (QC) services essential for the project’s infrastructure development. Our scope encompassed:
- Quality control of earthworks material and earthworks construction.
- Quality control for aggregate and pavement components.
To execute this, Tigenco mobilized a team of over 20 personnel and established on-site capabilities, including the procurement of a dedicated soil mechanics laboratory and a concrete and aggregate laboratory. Furthermore, we were responsible for setting up the entire QC framework, including establishing detailed methods, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and approval processes.
Demonstrated Value and Expertise
Although the initial contract is nearing its original term, it has been extended due to project delays, a testament to Tigenco’s reliable performance. Tigenco has consistently demonstrated resilience and compliance across all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), Quality, and Legal matters. Our team has navigated challenging site conditions, including working double shifts, weathering road blockages, and managing natural disasters.
Beyond simple testing, we have served as a trusted advisor, proactively guiding the client on required testing protocols and offering expertise on appropriate methods for earthwork structure construction. Our long-standing reputation for quality and precision has subsequently led to opportunities for Tigenco to work on other Petrosea sites, further cementing our valued partnership.
